ORAL PRESENTATION INFORMATION

The total time allocated to each oral presentation is 20 minutes, including 15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A. Please use the widescreen format (i.e., an aspect ratio of 16:9) for your slides to best utilize the projection screen. Powerpoint slides are highly recommended over Google or other slide formats.

All presenters will be utilizing a conference laptop, which is a PC. Individual laptops will not be accommodated. Presenters should have a copy of their presentation on a flash drive that is compatible with PCs. Please be sure to load your presentation onto the PC in the morning before the first talk begins. Technical support will be available to help you with this.

POSTER PRESENTATION INFORMATION

The total time allocated to each poster session is 1.5 hours to enable thoughtful discussions. Please use 4-feet wide and 3-feet high landscape format for your posters to best utilize the poster boards. We will provide poster boards that can accommodate posters up to this size. Posters should not exceed this size. Each side of the poster board will only have one poster hung. Each poster board will be numbered with push pins provided. Posters should be hung during coffee break or lunch so they are ready for viewing during the appropriate session.

We have arranged local poster printing services for conference participants. The poster will be full-color on coated matte paper with a maximum size of 4-feet (width) by 3-feet (height), i.e., 48 inches x 36 inches landscape. The cost of this poster printing service is $15 per poster.

To order the printing of your poster follow the following steps:

  • Prepare Your File: Ensure your poster design is complete and saved in a high-resolution PDF format.
  • Submit Your Order: Email your poster PDF file along with your Paper ID to compel2024@lums.edu.pk with the subject line "Poster Printing Order."
  • Make Your Payment: Payment should be made at the conference registration desk on Monday June 24, 2024.

All poster PDF files must be submitted by 5:00 pm Pakistan Standard Time on Sunday June 23, 2024, to ensure timely printing and delivery. Printed posters can be picked up from the registration desk on Tuesday June 25, 2024, after 9:30 am Pakistan Standard Time.

Please contact us at compel2024@lums.edu.pk with any questions or for additional information.

Full Paper Submission

COMPEL 2024 full paper submission is a multi-step process. Make sure to complete all steps described below:

Step 1: Prepare the full paper pdf file

The COMPEL 2024 full paper must use the IEEE US letter two-column template used for conference papers. A Word template is available for download here:

A LaTeX template is available at: https://www.ieee.org/conferences/publishing/templates.html

A few samples are also available here:

Papers must strictly adhere to the following requirements to be included in the COMPEL 2024 proceedings:

  • Paper Size: US letter (8.5" x 11")
  • Paper Length: Full papers are expected to be 6 to 8 pages in length. Maximum 8 pages, including figures, tables and references. Papers that exceed the 8-page limit will not be submitted to IEEE Xplore
  • File Format: Adobe PDF (.pdf)
  • Fonts: Embed ALL fonts in your PDF file. No Type 3 fonts allowed
  • Allowed File Size: 5 MB
  • Do NOT page number your paper
  • Do NOT apply security settings to your PDF file
  • The PDF file MUST be IEEE Xplore compliant. You must use IEEE PDF eXpress to ensure that your PDF is Xplore compliant

Make sure you carefully proofread your full paper before submission.

Step 2: Check full paper pdf file for IEEE compliance using IEEE PDF eXpress

Once your full paper pdf file is ready, log into IEEE PDF eXpress at: https://ieee-pdf-express.org

First-time users will need to create their IEEE PDF eXpress account by clicking on Create account. You will need to use the COMPEL 2024 Conference ID, your email address and choose a password.

The Conference ID for COMPEL 2024 is: 57542X

Enter any additional information as prompted. An online confirmation will be displayed, and an email confirmation will be sent verifying your account setup.

Existing users of PDF eXpress should login using the above provided Conference ID for COMPEL 2024 and their existing credentials. Also verify that your contact information is correct.

Upload your file, convert it, and check the status of conversion. Once the conversion is complete, a report will be generated for the file conversion. Check whether conversion was successful, or some changes are needed.

VERY IMPORTANT STEP: Press the approve button next to your paper after validation is successful. Once you approve, a download link will appear allowing you to access the pdf file internally signed by PDF-eXpress. Download this file and use it as the full paper pdf file that you submit to EasyChair.

Step 3: Upload full paper pdf file to EasyChair

Before uploading your full paper pdf file, make sure that the title of the paper in EasyChair matches the title in the full paper pdf file. Also check that all author names in EasyChair match with the authors listed in the full paper pdf file and appear in the same order. Also make sure you upload to EasyChair the full paper pdf file generated by IEEE PDF eXpress.

To upload the full paper pdf file, log into the COMPEL 2024 EasyChair submission page at: https://easychair.org/account/signin and follow these instructions:

  1. Select the “proceedings author (IEEE Proceedings) role”
  2. Update paper information and authors’ names and order. This can be done by either editing the fields or by clicking on the “Update authors” link in the right upper corner
  3. Upload the full paper pdf file by clicking on the “Upload new version” link in the upper right corner of the submission information page

Step 4: Submit the IEEE Electronic Copyright Form

COMPEL 2024 also uses EasyChair to transfer copyright to IEEE. If you are an author of a paper with an unsigned copyright agreement, a link to sign the agreement will be available under your "Alerts" main menu tab accessible from anywhere in EasyChair. Your alerts will contain a link "IEEE copyright agreement for paper ...". Simply follow this link and you will be redirected to the IEEE eCF pages where the agreement can be signed.

Alternatively at your submission information page a “Sign Copyright Agreement” button will be available. Please note that if neither is available, one of your co-authors may already have signed the form on your behalf.

Important note: A copyright submission form is required for each paper. Failing to submit an electronic copyright will result in denial of paper publication in both the COMPEL 2024 conference proceedings and the IEEE Xplore database.

Digest Submission

Prospective authors should submit a digest not exceeding five single-column double-spaced US letter-sized pages (8.5-in x 11-in), including figures and references, in PDF format. Use standard fonts such as Arial, Calibri, Courier, Helvetica, Tahoma, Times New Roman, Verdana, etc. with font sizes no smaller than 10 pt and no larger than 12 pt. No indication of authors’ names or affiliation should be included in the 5-page digest. The first page should contain the paper title. To see an example digest that meets the formatting requirements, click here.

Information about the paper, including title, topic of interest, authors’ names, affiliations, complete mailing addresses, telephone and e-mail addresses of the corresponding author, and a 100-word abstract must be provided in the submission system.

To download the Call for Papers, click here.

The deadline to submit the digest is February 5, 2024 March 10, 2024.
